Today is day 189 of my 2025-365 Photography Challenge. While on a hike yesterday I collected a railroad spike that has been discarded along with a bolt. I have always been fascinated with the railroad and how it all works. Its fun to get up close to the tracks and see how it is all built. Gravel-rock bed, wooden railroad ties, metal tracks, railroad spikes, with some bolts and screws and you have a track. Watching the train go by you can see the trauma that all of these parts is exposed to. You can see the track bend and flex and move up and down.
