Today marks day 181 of my 2025-365 Photography Challenge.
For the last five years, I have volunteered as a Photographer/Videographer for the Elk Grove Police Department. During this period, I have had the honor of collaborating with numerous dedicated men and women who take pride in serving this community.
Assistant Chief Paul Solomon is set to retire this Friday, July 4th, 2025, after a distinguished 32-year career in Law Enforcement. Chief Solomon began his journey as a Police Officer in Stockton, CA. In 2006, he transitioned laterally to serve with the Elk Grove Police Department.
When I inquired about his most significant memory or experience, Chief Solomon shared that it is the mentorship and collaboration with his Officers that has provided them with the best opportunities for success. He has been fortunate to have many exceptional mentors who have influenced his development, and his commitment to 'Pay it Forward' to the next generation of Officers has been a driving force in his role as Assistant Chief of Police.
Chief Solomon, we appreciate your service. Enjoy your retirement, sir. Chief Solomon currently has no specific plans for his retirement, but he intends to travel and spend quality time with his wife and two children.
